I think they’re going through a cycle of improving Duane Reade stores. There was a pretty nice one near me in Manhattan.
Duane Reade on Flatbush is also a zillion times better than RiteAid on 7th.
I have a wonderful personal library, a goodly part of which I havent read. It is stacked behind my living room couch and in one of my closets in stacks and on shelves. I have two projects I have to do still in my house (but NOT NOW FOR THE LOVE OF GOD) and that is to make a nice set of built in bookcases around my fireplace in one of the parlor rooms and the other is to put a wet bar in the same room.
im the same as denton, i do all my reading on the subway as well. i cant read standing up tho grrrrrr so if the R train really does get packed after labor day im gonna be screwed and totally illiterate!!!
oh a new super duane reade opened up here in soho. it’s really nice and has a really nice grocery section. i think they feed their cashiers ecstasy or something!
I’ve noticed I like non-fiction more than fiction- I agree with IJ most readers are specific – but if someone suggests a book to me I will at least check the back cover to see if it will appeal to my senses. Many books I have read often come from others’ suggestions

“same for me, but with masturbation.”
Maybe a beanbag would encourage more consistency?
Reading and masturbation are both bad for the eyesight when taken to excess anyway.
Anyone read ‘Peanut’? Fucking awesome book. Best scenes of marital discord I’ve ever read.
DIBS, we didnt miss you much either
