Lech, the Southie friend of mine from Boston, goes to Ireland every September for an oystah eating festival/contest. I really can’t even talk about this without feeling queasy but he is the Joey Chestnut of oystah eating in County Cork. uugghh.

Speaking as a ultra-techie type myself, I’ve found that most computer/engineering/tech types relate better to machines than people, so prefer a suburban lifestyle. I have three ex-colleagues who’ve moved to Orcas Island, a mountaintop in Idaho and a 100 acre (non-working) farm is eastern CA. Claim they love the isolation. I say good riddance to them.
