  1. Lech, the Southie friend of mine from Boston, goes to Ireland every September for an oystah eating festival/contest. I really can’t even talk about this without feeling queasy but he is the Joey Chestnut of oystah eating in County Cork. uugghh.

  2. >I wonder why there are almost no technical / handson / blue collar /engineering types who choose to live an urban lifestyle

Speaking as a ultra-techie type myself, I’ve found that most computer/engineering/tech types relate better to machines than people, so prefer a suburban lifestyle. I have three ex-colleagues who’ve moved to Orcas Island, a mountaintop in Idaho and a 100 acre (non-working) farm is eastern CA. Claim they love the isolation. I say good riddance to them.

  3. “sometmes I wished I lived back in the burbs again so I can drive everywhere and park in a parking lot not double-park or drive around for 40 mins looking for a friggin spot”

or you can just not drive!!

  4. Pit stop. Off to the cable museum in Orleans to see a remnant of the transatlantic cable. Just came back from checking out remnants of the Marconi wireless site. Then I’m gonna pick up all of the lobstah for tonight. I can’t eat any more steamahs. Too many. Too many.
