Whereas, if you hop on the A at 181st St, you are in midtown in 20-30 minutes and to Fort Greene Brooklyn in 40!

Donatella, I love the A train too, especially living in Bed-Stuy now, near the A at Nostrand and not having to wait for the C. But I think you’d need a helicopter to get from 181st St. to Ft. Greene in 40 minutes, especially since by train you’d have to change for the C or G.

When my daughter and I were looking at high schools, we timed the trip from Nostrand to Columbus Circle on the A (on the way to La Guardia) several times. Never less than 30 minutes from the moment the doors closed at Nostrand until the doors opened at 59th St. 181st St. is another 20 minutes at the very least. Even the ever-optimistic MTA website indicates 47 minutes during rush hour from Nostrand to 181st St.
