While I was on vacation a friend of mine was telling me about these thriller novels by a certain author he reads. I’ve never read them but the author was recently profiled in the Times for his writing studio, designed by the interior designer to have nothing distracting to the act of writing.
Walking around the other day I noticed these novels and picked one up. Last time I regularly read genre fiction was Hercule Poirot mysteries (“Do not try and deceive me with your hearty good fellow manner!”) This book was so engrossing I sat for three hours in the Jefferson Market library reading it, then stayed up Saturday night finishing it. It completely threw off my weekend reading schedule. Fortunately at my local yesterday afternoon it was so dead – me and the bartender, checking his online dating site – that I caught up.
Jester, That isn’t true if you get a reputable professional. What one needs to combat the actual problem and well as fear (including irrational fear) is correct information. This is not alien abduction; it is about using chemicals to kill a bug.
