  1. “um, well for what it’s worth i would cross the street if it was a giant pack of white, asian, or hispanic kids. but we were talking about black kids in that thread. and when i say kids, i mean males between the age of 12 and 20. if i saw 15 black chicks coming the street i’d probably join in, and actually HAVE in the past. insinuating im racist is just ridiculous.”

What if it were a pack of peacocks?

  2. I was walking down Berkeley Place between 8th and 7th one early evening and a group of 8-9 African-American teen girls were approaching the other way. As I got closer I heard them talking about me.

    “Ask the man.”

    “Leave the man alone!”

As we passed one said, “Hey mister, want to see my breast?” as she lifted her hands near her chest.

I averted my eyes and kept going.

  3. Denton, I complemented his post, not because I agree with every word or sentiment in it, but because it was a well thought out treatise on his feelings about the projects and those in them. He wrote about how horrible life in the projects could be, and about the feelings of hopelessness that come from that. That is more empathy he’s shown about anyone or anything in a long time, and I encourage that, it’s a good trait for anyone.

Contrary to what rob tells me usually, I don’t require people to agree with me. I enjoy a good debate with people of opposing and different viewpoints from mine. Sometimes I’d like to convert them to the Light,:) but mostly, I’d just like to get my points across, and out on the table for general discussion, in an intelligent manner, without personal rancor. People can agree, or not. As we know, it all too often gets very personal here. So when he, or anyone else, can share heartfelt ideas or feelings, whether I share those sentiments or not, I find that worth commenting on in a positive manner.

Now we can go back to kicking and punching each other’s lights out. En garde!

  4. CH – wait I remember you looking for a job almost a year ago – oh good god are you still looking? oy oy oy!!

I think any gaggle of kids is a good reason to cross the street – all kids in a group no matter of race is a scary lot to walk through!! – hahaha

  5. Cobble, just get some colored contacts, preferably Jade or Lite Honey, and you will find a job easily. i swear! When it comes to hiring, 90 % of the time it’s about eye color, even if it’s fake colored lenses. it’s a little secret that people are afraid to talk about.
