  1. 360 Adams St. It was surprisingly comfortable. Large upholstered row chairs, good a/c, a bank of computers in the back of the area, an adjoining “lounge” where there were vending machines and you could talk on your cell phone….also more computers with internet access.

  2. “I don’t think he could know anything about ‘real difficulties’ given his complete lack of empathy”

I don’t need empathy to understand difficulty. My experience is sufficient.

And that is precisely what distinguished the dumb hipster bitch from the rest of us.

  3. SPeaking of liberals, the other day some folx were discussing the pitiful educational state of the general electorate, with the Left wondering if these people should be voting, and the Right insisting the electorate is not as dumb as it seems. ALtho restricting voting rights has a bad history in the USA, i still have some sympathy with that position.

I was reminded when I was up in Lake George this weekend. I got to meet my new cleaning person (my agent usually handles these details) and found her to be a cute lil’ 20 yo girl. Who was very interesting in chatting while she feather-dusted the picture frames. Turns out she has a ‘fiance’, and two children, one of whom is disabled and very ill.

As usual, I asked if she had ever been to NYC. Nope, no interest in going there either. Montreal? No, haven’t been, don’t want to go.

And it reminds me, so many of the locals in the Adirondacks are four hours away from two of the greatest cities in the world, and yet have no desire to go. Never mind Europe or the rest of the world. Yet they’re expected to understand and grapple with the issues.

  4. why dont i EVER get called for jury duty!?!?!?! ugh. can one volunteer? how much monies do you get when you do it? someone said it was like totally like than minimum wage, like 5 bux an hour? still not bad if you can use a sick day and get paid from work PLUS jury duty!!
