Folks;
I’m not going to wade into the issue of gay marraige itself. Rather, I’d like to call your attention to how the left in this country apparently has no need for the messy business of moral suasion and democracy. Consider what has happened in the past 18 months:
-passing an unpopular law that mandates that folks buy health insurance for themselves, at risk of penalty and/or jail. By the way, this past week, in a non-binding referendum, 71% of the folks in Missouri expressed their disapproval of this mandate.
-a court striking down Arizona’s recent immigration law;
-a court striking down the results of a referendum.
Well, November is coming, and I think folks on the left are not going to know what the hell hit them.
Park Slope lawyer, maybe, enlightened, hardly. Me and some other enlightened PS lawyers plan to revoke his membership in the Enlightened Park Slope Bar Association.
A great result although not unexpected. Procedurally predetermined, in fact. Judge was smart to treat this as an issue with a fact component and hold a trial. Puts the case on much better footing for appeal. Opposition “evidence” was laughable, even more than expected. Very interesting to see what Justice Kennedy does with this when it gets to the Supremes. But great news.

Hey DIBS,

So, when are you going to tie the knot?
Rob, I wasn’t serious but I betcha you guessed the wrong answer
Actually, I’ve agreed with BC’s anti-union position many times in the past.
SPX GIP chart, DCB.
“there are a LOT of conservatives in park slope.”
Certainly more than the stereotypes would suggest. There’s Benson and me (sometimes) for a start…
“Market rising off the early low. Didn’t even get low enough to test 1115 support level.”
Huh? What are you looking at?
