  1. “Says a lot about the integrity and scruples of Corcoran”

“CGar, Sorry to hear that. : ( ”

“Anything involving Corcoran that seems too good to be true most likely is.”

“CGar, if they’re in the same office then your broker shouldn’t have to put up with this.”

“My past experiences with Corcoran had me furious.”

Thanks guyz! I much appreciate the support. But it’s all good really.

By my count, this is now at least the 8th “perfect” house or apartment I’ve found in the past 18 months, and the 4th I’ve bid on. Paul Giamatti is living in one of my apartments; this Yuppie couple and their dog are living in another of my perfect apartments that, in hindsight, I really wish I’d gotten; and an 80-something former Wall Streeter and his wife and her new hip are living in my duplex, though friends tell me to wait for the Estate Sale for it to come back to market.

As for Corcoran, I go with the broker not the firm, as mine used to be at BHS (fka William B. May). I’ve known my broker 15+ years, and the close friends who referred her even longer, and we go out socially sometimes. She’s taken good care of me over the years, buying and selling, and even though she’s gotten nothing out of it, hooked me up with rentals in VT, MA and NY, and written a bunch of references for CDog. So I have no problem with her, and I don’t hold her responsible for other brokers, with or outside Corcoan.

  2. Have only visited Denver, not lived, but really like it.
I like the outer parts of the LA area (“Inland Empire” plus whatever the mountains north of LA are called) as well.

Re: yuppies: I was one briefly, I think. Now neither young nor upwardly mobile.

  3. quote:
My twin moved there in 95, lots of transient people and difficult to make lasting friends at first.

lol @ you having a twin. nyc can be described in the same way. and too many people in nyc wanting to make it a denver/portland lite. i truly believe living in nyc has irrevocably destroyed my soul and spirit.

  4. cmu, the bag I posted is 10″ x 10.5″ x 2″. So that would be around the size I’m looking for. I’m not looking for another messenger bag or something that would hold a computer.

  5. “So he took a right. Next pic I got was of the “welcome to Oregon” sign. Last night he texted me that Seattle looks good, he’s gonna give that a try. I assume he’s looking for an apartment today.”

    Oh, to be young again!
