And I shoulder the tax burden for every restaurant where I eat. My tax rate could be much lower if they all paid the taxes they are legally supposed to pay — but then I would have to pay much more for my food, and that would eat up the extra income I make.
I say FIRE the government employees who waste their time trying to make the restaurant owners pay and just let the system work the way it already works. Fewer government employees, less waste!!
lechacal, as a perfect example of the supply/demand curve, the supply of rentboys has gone up with the unemployment rate. Therefore the price has come down.
Your 11:39 post gets to the crux of the problem. No homo.
The increase in the size of government and the funds needed to pay for it has got to come to a stop. The Obama administration does not understand the first thing about spending, velocity of money and how to efficiently spend to bosst the economy. They come across as the worst sort of Democratic bumblefucks.

DIBS what I’m pointing out is that you are basically already shouldering the federal tax burden for your rentboys, and trying to move that burden to them would be silly and inefficient. It would mean more government employees and more waste.
DIBS I’m not saying anything about how much we should spend – just how we tax people to get the money the government has decided to spend.
I suppose we could lower your taxes and then hire a bunch of IRS officials to chase your rentboys around and force them to pay taxes. Then your rentboys have to charge you more money, so you end up no better off than you were. Only difference is now there are more government employees and therefore more money needed to be raise through taxes. Do you really think you and your rentboys are better off in that scenario?
So someone I know is apparently opening up a fast food gyro type restaurant right by Coney Island and Cyclones stadium. They are building the restaurant right now. I think he’ll fail though because he is a total slacker pothead with some poli sci degree from Brooklyn college who was fired from his last job and his wife’s daddy and brother (who own a pretty successful steel/metal business) are financing the whole thing. He has no restaurant experience once so ever and I doubt he’ll hire someone who knows the business to run it as he is very cheap. I give him about a year.
But DIBS again I’m not saying anything about how much the government spends, just how it collects the taxes.
In fact I’m advocating a decrease in spending because we can fire a bunch of tax collectors.
We agree on spending.
The problem with Socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money.

Well, the cheapest food would be at a food cart where the ability to cheat is the highest.
It’s a Laffer Curve sort of thing.
Speaking of restaurants, I tried the new “Il Fornino” on 5th Ave yesterday. Grrrrreeeeeeeaaaaaaattttttt!!
