  1. Subaru Outback is the BEST car ever!!
We finally had to get rid of ours after 250K miles. I cried when we sold it.
I’d buy another Outback in a heart beat and will when this clunker goes.

  2. yeah. i think the word trust fund is overused and i overuse it too. perhaps im just jealous lol. they come across as annoying smarmy though. why someone would pay DOUBLE for the price of what an apartment is worth just cuz it’s “green” is mind boggling.

    *rob*

  3. oh and Denton, thanks for Algonquin suggestion. We had lunch there and it was a nice scene with people pulling up to the docks on their boats for lunch. We had prime seats right by the water and the lobster roll I had was pretty good.

  4. “i dont wanna be a dick so im not posting it in the 3rd and bond thread, but ugh, that post REEEKS of trust fund!”

people with trust funds don’t buy condos a block from a super fund.

  5. DIBS and other home owners,

am hearing more seasoned mortgage brokers tell me they see rates dropping into the 3’s. they say it’s a gut feel vs. fundamentals driven analysis. I was WOW, that’s a great rate but it also could mean the big crap has hit the fan to drive it down that low

  6. By the way, interesting story about the restaurant “La Palina”. Why, you may ask, does an Italian restaurant have a spanish name? Well, here’s way.

For many years, La Palina was located on Sand Street in downtown Brooklyn. At that time, it didn’t have a name. It was simply known as the “Spaghetti House”, and it attracted a mix of clientle: local mafiosas, as well as the stars from the nearby big Brooklyn theater houses. One of the patrons was the singer Kate Smith, who at that time was the spokesperson for a cigar brand called “La Palina”. Kate Smith told the owner: “You need to give this place a name – How about La Palina?” and he agreed.

La Palina moved to Gravesend in the 1950’s, and it is still going strong!
