P.S. Don’t get me wrong. It will be beyond horrific for me, and I’ve been forced to do that before, but I don’t want to see my dog suffering and in pain, and it’s not fair to her.

*rob*, based on what you told me this weekend, I think that’s more likely because of the age and condition of your roommate’s dog — that’s very high maintenance, and sounds very sad. I hope if and when CDog gets to that point that I don’t keep her alive for me, even after her quality of life has so deteriorated.
