The 4/5 is the only east side line; it’s been a problem since the eliminations of the ELs. Someday they will finish the second avenue subway. The 4/5s crawl along, but they come constantly unlike the goddamn C, which I think has won the award for the worst service in the city. They run every 20 minutes, no joke.
I wish they would do something about the 4/5. I read some where that the line is at capacity in terms of the number of trains it can safely run during rush hour. I just hate riding the train like I live in Kolkata.
A lot of people are taking this week off from work to take advantage of the extra day on Monday. I guess kids are finishing up school too which would make the trains less crowded.
yeah ishtar, the 4/5 are a nightmare. when i lived in crown heights the 4 was jam packed when I got on at Franklin Ave (Utica is the only stop before)
Funny how the trains everyone loves to hate on are the most reliable and clean year after year (the 7 and the L)

Public school is over. Last day (half-day) was yesterday, and many kids didn’t go. Private schools mostly ended weeks ago.
DIBS, DCB, mkt pro’s, etc,
will I have more “Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!” oppties later in the week?
maps.google.com has transit routes as well as walking routes. They offer you a choice of different ways to go.
Also the MTA website has its own trip planner:

I’ve used both of these plus hopstop and gotten completely different directions!

CGar – I’m meeting a friend by grand central tonight – we’re going to Bukhara Grill. I’ll let you know how it goes. Supposed to be good.

I added RAM to my laptop last night. It works much better. For you techies, this is nothing, but I am proud of myself.
