not really. i dont think the government should be allowed to dictate what is morally right and wrong for our bodies. the cigarette tax is not going to make me quit smoking, i enjoy it too much. it just means that i will be bringing my own iced coffee to work instead of buying it at the street vendor, which hurts the street vendor who probably isnt a smoker.

  2. The Ceriello guys are the best. I had them come a few times, but one guy in particular, Frank was very patient explaining all of my wiring issues (some screwy wiring arrangements from bad former reno). They did a big job for me and very professional and respectful.

  3. Re state taxes on purchases, this is more of an issue now that people are buying more and more on the internet and not paying state sales taxes in many cases. Cigarettes and soda, no, but clothing, electronics, housewares, books, yes. Basically we get a pass on most stuff now (I believe that the law on the books says that if the internet retailer has a physical presence in the state where the buyer is then the tax is charged…).

I am amazed now at how my buying has changed. I rarely go to stores. I buy housewares on line, clothes (though not all), electronics, lots of stuff I check prices and go with the cheapest buying on line. And I get a pass on tax on a lot of this stuff.

This is a gap that the states are desperate to fix.

  4. ENY, Biff was talking from relative term vs. absolute. for absolute inexpensive V-neck (as I look at what I’m wearing that wife bought), HANES baby. now I want to upgrade to those new “No Bacon” ones they’ve been pushing
