Let’s be frank. When it comes to contractors, aren’t all the good ones Italian?
I thought that was only masons & iron workers????
Funny story…I had an irish (old country, but young guy) contractor for my fabulous ensuite master bath. All the rough-in work was done by the Irish guys but when it came to the important subs (plumbing, electic and of course plaster) they were all latin Americans, some of whom i assume were not legal!!!!
“i dont think the government should be allowed to dictate what is morally right and wrong for our bodies.”
Sure I agree with you, just as long as when you get lunch cancer and emphysema from smoking and you’re a big fattie with heart problems from drinking coke all day and you have a sucking chest wound from some other stupid thing you aren’t going to ask for my tax dollars to cover your medical costs. But anyone who thinks medicare, medicaid, and now government funded health insurance should cover those costs (and they do, and it’s basically impossible for them not to), needs to suck it up and pay.
“I bought cigs on line but a law went into effect yesterday making it illegal for the post office to ship them to or from any state. Guess I’ll start getting them from Switzerland.”
Really? I placed a big order last week, but they get shipped in from the UK. They are sent in a pretty non-descript evelope. Hope they make it through!
You have no idea how frustrating I find smoking. I hear you Rob but it drives me nuts. I feel like doing missionary work outside of all the bars and offices where people are smoking, standing on a soapbox exhorting people to quit. But it is useless and it is just some misplaced rescue impulse, then I feel vaguely depressed.
need to hit lotto tonight. sick and tired of getting out bid by all-cash offers
“If they want to raise revenue – make weed legal and tax the hell out of it. problem solved.”
So long as the potency is disclosed (like an alcohol %) then I agree.

Kind of like a Cigarette Jehovah’s Witness?
