  1. Couldn’t agree more lechacal. Growing up in CT, we had a clothes “rack” of sorts behind the house. The clothes line part was 4-sided and sat on top of a pole, which could be turned (so of course it was also fun to play with), because it sat in a holder buried in cement in the ground. I’m sure there’s a name for it, but I can’t recall.

Then again, we also had a machine called an “ironer” into which sheets (which needed to be ironed back in the day) and other items needing ironing were fed in wrinkled and came out pressed. The ironer was about the size of a mini-van. My mother tried to sell it when we moved in 1975, but no one bought it because no one knew what it was.

  2. I guess good times are back on Wall Street. Da kid says her firm has re-instated free ‘fancy lunch’, as opposed to the free recession lunch, which she thought was pretty good anyway, especially since it was free.

  3. DIBS, go upgrade your phone to 1 of the Android phones. I’m told there’s an app that you download which turns the phone to a mini-wireless router which then allows your ipad to piggy-back off your phone to get internet access. so no need to get their ipad with the AT&T plan. just get the android phone and regular ipad
