It has nothing to do with the “wimp” factor. May I remind you that President Obama’s main foreign policy statement while he was campaigning was that the war in Afghanistan was a “war of necessity” that “we have to win”. To then turn around 18 months into his presidency and say, “never mind” because the going gets tough would be a huge symbolic win for Al Quaeda AND finish off Obama’s presidency too.
The going got tough in Iraq too for a while and it looked like a quagmire. We stuck it out and prevailed.
I think the country has become too PC for us to have “real” generals like MacArthur & Patton.
If we are going to fight a war, we should have the guts to use the sort of weapons that we have at our disposal. We are nowhere close to using what the Pentagon has.
USA just scores…1-0 vs Algeria. If UK wins, US must win this game. Wait. I don’t care about this.
USA scores.
USA SCORES!!
USA just scored with no time on the clock and beat Algeria!!!!!!!
USA on the verge of being left behind in the group stage of the World Cup.

“Pilot show: The role of prostitutes in modern American politics.”
You guys have something in common there, Dave.
dibs, your send in the drones is classic. A duet between Patton and Barbara Cook would be sweet.
