ENY, I heard on talk radio the answer why. They say Europeans need to adjust to the African style of play, like the flares they fire off in Brazil.

That’s not really an “answer,” IJ, it’s a assertion, and not a particularly intelligent one at that. But considering the source is “talk radio,” that’s par for the course.

  2. Rant. On alt side days why can’t people figure out that they shouldn’t double-park adjacent to: a) cars that haven’t moved; b) trees that slant over the street meaning that large trucks can’t get by -esp. when they’re on streets w/ bike lanes?

BoHill, not being a scientist (nor do I play one on blogs), I did realize even with 2,000 one doesn’t hear any crowd noise whatsover, but I assumed 80,000 vuvus blown together were still louder than 2,000.

It probably is; 40 H bombs probably do more damage than one.

    🙂

  4. Damage to the ears begins at 85 decibels and I think that is the level at which NYC defines noise pollution. Anything that has 85+ decibels is a priori not fun for me. I don’t care what it is. A soccor match, NASCAR (especially NASCAR), the freaking 4,5 train when it rounds the bend at Fulton St. (I am one of those wimps with her fingers in her ears). When I used to go to the Fillmore East back in the day, I have to say that half of those bands were too freaking loud and that was when I could take anything. I have a friend, former rocker, now a successful inventor/scientist, who has major hearing loss from rock and roll.

  5. “worst abuse post a disappointing performance on intl stage is Iraq soccer team when Saddam’s 2 sons abused, tortured, etc the returning team.”

Sounds like North Korean parents (and Iraqi parents back in the day) should rejoice if their kids suck at sports.
