dona, The shame is that when we’re out in restaurants (often enough) or bars (infrequently these days) he has a very hard time hearing conversations. The height doesn’t help, since he’s often a head or more taller than the average bear. But it sort of excludes him from participating which he finds frustrating.
I didn’t use any profanity. I was silly but in a pretty harmless way. I was not uncivil. And I asked them all out to drinks very sincerely and nicely more than once!
And I used to actually read BHB pretty regularly as a ‘regular’ person.
Cobble, that’s a shame. Sorry to hear that. I think our bodies warn us, that much noise just hurts (I think pain starts at 125 DB) but extended exposure to 85+ causes damage to the hair cells in the ear.
cobble, why won’t he wear a hearing aid?

“I have a friend, former rocker, now a successful inventor/scientist, who has major hearing loss from rock and roll.”
dona, BH used to work in night clubs, many a year ago, and he’s got really bad hearing loss.
