rf, I hope your daughter also feels better. It’s brutal to watch your child suffer. Champ #2 stayed home all week from school but seems to have improved a lot today.
BoHill, I should have mentioned that another reason I felt okay ignoring McKenzie was because you already did the dirty work and exposed her for what she is. It was crazy for her to imply people from other neighbourhoods were making all the nasty comments and were jealous of Brooklyn Heights, especially when many of the posters criticizing the HOTD, such as I, live there.
Kens, dont go with non-NYS plates and insurance unless you’re willing to file your tax returns in that state. god for bid you encounter a big incident, insurance investigator will see you lied on application (grounds to void agreement) and on top of no coverage, you could be charged criminally. Net net is, it’s not worth it my man.
125 acres with 10 cottages, gated. Owner has owned it for about 10 years…most of the owners are from NYC…very artsy and about 50% gay.
100′ of property in each direction…hard to see nearest cottage…seen one neigbor once in 10 years
Can only be occupied 180 days of the year
5 or 10 year leases on the land…current payment is $3,400 per year which includes road maintenance and a central trash facility ( I assume each cottage has own well and septic but didn’t ask). He said land charges haven’t gone up much every year…maybe $100.
If truly interested, I would have a lawyer check into the real estate status of the entire acreage. The reason he wan’t allow mortgages is so he doesn’t come under radar of RE tax.
Thanks for sharing rf (and 4 the well wishes, Biff).
She just got over a UTI. They wanted to do a workup mid-week, putting a dye inside her, but she’s only 20 months, we decided to wait a few days to see if her temp improved. Pretty sure it’s not another UTI as the symptoms are quite different (this time its really just a fever, without any specific indication of pain or discomfort).
I’m a little annoyed with our pediatrician now after reading about rf’s daughter having strep. We had an exam Monday and she only did a visual, didn’t take a culture. Guess we’ll have her take one this afternoon.
On Memorial Day my daughter (14) started feeling shitty and had a very low fever.
I kept her home on Tuesday and Wednesday. Wednesday night she was feeling much, much better except for sore throat. Thursday her throat hurt a lot so we went to the ped. She almost never gets sick; they had to find her chart in storage! Anyway, the ped said her throat didn’t look too bad and the instant strep test was negative. So they gave us a note for school and she went to school on Friday, plus a dinner that night with a bunch of 13-15-year-old friends.
On Saturday we were on the way to Manhattan for a chorus rehearsal and the doctor’s office called. The strep culture was positive! So back home, notes of apology to many people she was in contact (not that kind but still!) with on Friday), 10 days of antibiotics. By Sunday her throat was all better but she’s still taking the pills.
11217, I caught his/her comments at the end of the Love Lane thread yesterday. I considered responding and then determined it wasn’t worth the effort. He/she just seems very bitter. I chose to ignore.
…
The reason I called him out twice in the last week is that is his modus operandi whenever he logs on (usually after work hours, when he doesn’t have to engage). I suppose its better he comes here spewing hate than kicking his cat or knocking his significant other around.
Going forward I’m following Mr. Champion’s lead.; not worth burning another calorie on.
OK, we have the SA-Mexico game on now.
Mexicans are soooooo hot.

I’m not sure, BH, I think I got that impression when s/he came into the OT one day sometime back. I may be wrong.
