Re: BBP controversy.
My main problem with the parks in Brownstone Brooklyn is that they are so damn crowded. I rode my bike through Prospect Park on Memorial Day and frankly speaking, it was disgusting. The park was so crowded with people having BBQ’s that there was litter EVERWHERE, as well as smoke. Cobblehiller noted that BBP was crowded yesterday due to it being a hot day.
Well, knowing that the Brownstone Brooklyn parks would be crowded, I did the following yesterday morning:
-rode my Bike to the Parkside Ave train stop of the Brighton Line
-took the Brighton line to Sheepshead Bay
-rode my bike to the Knapp Street entrance of the bikepath that starts along the Belt Parkway and then goes into the Gateway park area.
-rode over the Gil Hodges bridge, which affords great views of Jamaica Bay and then onto Fort Tilden park, which, imho, is true bliss in NYC. It consists of a few bike paths through completely natural sand dunes and vegetation along the ocean. Due to its limited access, there were few people in it yesterday, and it was wonderful. The air was a mixture of the salt spray and the smell of the wildflowers that grow everywhere. The bike paths are so uncrowded. After riding through the dunes, I went to the beach and took in some sun, then had brunch at the local greasy spoon in Breezy Point.
CGar, I liked your comment on that thread. Non-perverted adults like waterparks and you are right, Rob is not an idiot. And when he pretends he is one, only PLUSAs can call him that.

A completely RELAXING day.
