Thanks all. You’ve shaken the cobwebs out of my mind. Gartner, Forrestal and (similiarly) IDC. Let me start with them.
I’ve been given the task to try to find a new area of business for my company in the US market. We had an internal brainstorming session the other day, and couldn’t come up with a substantial list – which is a pretty sad commentary on the prospoects for the manufacturing sector in the US.
machine not that old. And already would have owed the $75 service call. What I didn’t now when he did give price was that the part was only about $10…I just thought was expensive part.
And new machine would mean delivery charge, sales tax, and a 1/2 day off from work to wait for delivery guys that probably would not want to lower the machine into cellar thru hatch. (something that the local guys would do).

Which industries, specifically? I can check with UBS and JPM.

Yes, Gartner does these things but not sure what’s available free. check their website.
