  1. Legion,

    According to:
    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/05/07/13-story-mosque-to-be-bui_n_566080.html

“The Muslim organizations plan to announce the groundbreaking later this year, possibly to coincide with the 10th anniversary of the attacks, Khan said. It could take up to three years to build the Cordoba House; the groups currently have no funds for the project but plan to start raising money, she said.

A Friday prayer service has been held since September at the building, she said.”

So basically, they MAY break ground on 9/11/11.

AND they’re using the space for Friday prayer service NOW!
That should really set you off. How could people worship God so close to the WTC site?

  2. Legal issues aside, I think Legion is correct on the issue of insensitivity.

I remind all that about 15 years ago, Jewish groups asked a group of nuns to remove their convent off the grounds of Auschwitz, as they felt it was inappropriate. In that case the nuns were a cloistered group who dedicated their lives to praying for the victims of the Holocaust. Nevertheless, out of respect for those who made the request, they moved their convent.

  3. only about 5 years I think. I know new one probably only double or so the repair….that is why it hurts.
But then the hassle factor of shopping, delivery (more charge)…and trying to get into cellar.
In old days, before all those stupid restaurant and bars, I had 2 places on Smith that would come repair. And they would deliver new or refurbished appliance –in a couple hours instead of reserving 1/2 day …and they would get machine down through the front hatch. No delivery person from PC richards or wherever is gonna do that.
