cgar, the footprint of the towers you are seeing is most likely the footprint of the reflecting pools as they are finished. I’ve been working on some things there involving the water supply.
Dave in Bedstuy, thanks for recommending Greg from Allied a few weeks back for a sliding patio door installation. Him and his guys were great and I couldn’t be happier with the job! Thanks again.
After having read all the thread, and seeing the caliber of posters, some of whom are deep into NYC history, and others deep into NYC architecture, that not one person has mentioned there WAS a mosque near the footprint of the WTC site, that was closed immediately afterward. One of those storefront deals, I can’t remember the street but I remember the storefront.
Dave, I have a front row seat overlooking Ground Zero, and I have to say it’s finally taking shape. The footprints of the Towers have been finished — I have to say they are very eerie to look at. And the new Freedom Tower (hate the name) is approaching 16 stories or so right now — they’re going up about 1 story / week.
M4L: I did?
taht must have been when I sat overlooking park and the Dakota – that was nice!
now am in a interior office where I used to be able to look through my coworkers office – but he got laid off and the door remains close!
DH – really? well I think you might be the minority – most people didn;t run out to buy it and it’ slipping in the charts
however next up: Band Of Horses
“how about the weak economy, bad real estate market, and that lower manhattan has been losing to midtown for decades?”
How about it’s all the fault of the unions???
Yes, benson, I did realize that after the fact. Sorry.

DIBS;
I think you mis-understood my post. My statement was made tongue-in-cheek.

“Anyone ever used Western Union to send money overseas??? How does it work?? What do you need to know???”
They charge a fuckin’ fortune, like most companies that make their money primarily off poor people.
You can do it from their website too.
