benson, across your park is the building I used to live in, which was converted in the late 1980s. While it is an old building, it was ‘new construction’ when it was converted.
After mold showed up we managed to collect a 400k settlement, courtesy of the AG’s office. It took three rounds of construction and nearly a million bux over six years to fix the building. So much for new construction.
This was not the developer’s first project.
You’re right, you can’t win the argument, because while we know that the brownstones have survived for more than 100 years, some in better shape, some in worse, we do not know if what is now new construction will survive the next hundred.
I am on point. I’m trying to show how foolish it is to make sweeping statements about buildings based upon casual observations on a blog. Don’t like it when the sweeping statement is directed at your home?? Touchy, touchy, touchy!!!
You are also incorrect with your statement about brick construction. For example, even the lowly Fedders construction has TWO layers of brick: the structural and the veneer.
I repeat: the Satori is made of solid brick. Go search its history on this site and you will see it. Mr. B. used to call it the “cinder block building”. The wood panels are just a veneer.
Biff—you must read the end of yesterday’s OT. Despite his rejection of the term blogicide, he essentially did that by calling the OT a “mental treadmill” that he needed to get off.
donatella has been here today. bxgrl, as noted above, seems to be on a What-inspired protest (though maybe that is not the case and she is just busy).
I think politicians have to be narcissistic to be able to cope with the job.
“seems brownstones have lots of problems with flooding and shit.”
A flooding problem can be dealt with, a shit problem would be more of an issue..
lol,
I haven’t seen Benson and DIBS
arguing here before.

dh, my brownstone is perfectly dry. I believe though it was benson’s building that has flooding issues.
Am I right benson??????
Yes, Legion, full blown narcissism. Already accounts of tantrums and tirades in the oval office too.
