Nothing to do with years of construction. If it’s a high-rise, it was poured concrete and therefore pretty noise reduced. If it’s a regular 4 to 7 story building, most likely it’s wood framed and you’re screwed.
Bad part about concrete, you’ll need a humidifier as walls don’t breathe and no moisture in the apartment so people with asthma, allergies, etc. definitely feel it.

Just studs, insulation and drywall. I can’t really hear much from the other apartments. Neighbors play music pretty loud, but I can only hear it when in the hallway, not in my apartment.
