*Shrieking* Legion- why the hell did you post that???? Gawd! I can’t stand looking at those things- ugh ugh ugh…. (do we have any melted butter?)
ET- I’d go for the 40 pc tool set- it seems to have the most variety. But it depends on what you want the set for. the last set with the bag doesn’t have the variety of pliers but is heavy on interchangeable screwdrivers. If you need that much detail (ie construction), you should take a closer look. but if you just need to have a set of tools around the house, I’d go with the first but you will still need a tape measure, a level and a hammer. Which the interchangeable set does have.
And this greek place is great. Owned by same guy for 30+ years and he is always in the kitchen cooking up a storm. The plates are enormous and he is like the neighborhood staple. Grows his own tomatos too.
I saw Les Mis in London and fell asleep less than an hour in. I figured I must have just been too tired and not able to appreciate it so I saw it again on Broadway. Stayed awake and hated it even more. I know, I’m uncouth…
“Wasder your radar is broken! I ask you some questions on the stet of Fulton St (you started it) and I got no reply! WTF???”
Sorry What! I did see your reply the other day but it was already late when I read it and didn’t think anyone would see what I wrote in response. Anyway, this is what I would say. I agree that 11238 is predominantly a working class neighborhood but I do think that there is already a density of higher income people to support some of the businesses that I and others would like to see on Fulton. The new restaurant that you were talking about (next to the vet, Buka I think its called) has just opened so I think its too early to tell if its a viable long term business but I will keep my eye open. My overall opinion on Fulton though is that there is room for a wide variety of businesses that cater to a wide variety of income levels (such as exist in Clinton Hill). I patronize a couple of the bodegas for beer and cigarettes, but would also appreciate the ability to buy fresh produce, good chocolate, and other such “luxury” items later at night than the Met is open. I also would appreciate a bar, just a regular old bar where I could drink beer or a martini, close to my house. Have high hopes for the one that is opening on Grand/Putnam/Fulton triangle. In general, while I understand the concerns of the existing businesses and discussed their opposition to the BID with a few of them, I think that the changes brought about to Fulton Street have already been remarkable and very welcome. The street is cleaner, has more trees, and in the last few months more businesses have opened and/or applied for permits than in the whole time I have lived here combined. So something is moving in the right direction.
Arkady, all of those have way more than you need for a basic toolkit.
Much better to go to a tool store and “make up” your own box.

ET – Get him the box & put a gift cert for tools in it.
