  1. CGar — I think the subway tunnel is too close to the surface on Smith Street. That’s why there are no trees. And the reason why we have seen posted on here in the past, planting options like corn stalks on the corner where the Dunkin’ Donuts is… short roots.

But perhaps they could “plant” some of those fake trees they have at places like The Rainforest Cafe.

  2. What — you and I have had our disagreements but I did not try to get you banned. I did not ask for it, either on this site or otherwise, and I did not vote for it. I don’t generally value your contribution and don’t know what your fan club sees in you, but I most emphatically did not try to have you banned.

  3. Smith St did have a BID but they got cheap and didn’t renew. It really did help keep the place cleaner and they did good job of removing all the damned flyers for which now is my responsibility.
Since subway underneath…I doubt they can plant trees on Smith. Biggest eyesores are the single story shacks…couple of empty lots, the MTA on Wyckoff corner.

  6. What, when someone makes racist remarks, I have no problem responding, and do all the time. Rob and I have certainly had our differences, and Benson and I can’t agree that the sky is blue on a sunny day. However, neither of them makes remarks like “Oh BTW If you have SAND IN YOUR VARJAY then I suggest you get some Monistat and take care of it! Mkay???!!!!”. Some might find that funny, but I don’t, it’s disgusting. Lots of people on Brownstoner say stupid things, but very few, in fact, it’s only you, take it into the realm of the crass and personal.

  7. ty, I was only joking with Pedro about Smith Street. That said, Smith Street really could use a major tree planting initiative. I wonder if there’s a Smith Street BID?

(I thought I’d seen posters for it once, but then I heard some mean old guy in a bathrobe wandered up and down Smith Street, ranting at the sky, and ranting at passersby, as he tore all the posters down.)
