One of the BIGGEST cost drivers is the “fee for service” system that the U.S. healthcare system is built around. This goes back to the hang a shingle and call yourself a doctor days. Studies have shown that there are more procedures for X in an area that has more doctors that do procedure X. You do more activities, you order more tests… then the doctor can charge for those. Make more money. Only perform X and Y, but not Z… then your revenue has just been reduced. If Z isn’t particularly harmful, why not do it even if it’s not necessary?
Would you support putting doctors on a Salary System instead?
This is how *true* socialized medicine systems work. Doctors in Britain get a salary. It’s a very good salary — but not the hundreds of thousands that a private doc can amass through a fee-for-service system.
i have to pick 2 out of the three. which is the one that would be the least problematic if i ignored?
i nearly pooped my pants this weekend when i saw this documentary about college and they said that the government really CAN garnish your wages and sue you and stuff.. i always thought that was just an urban legend!
Well the Healthcare Bill just cost America a ton of Jobs! More work for the survivors and lest jobs for everyone else. Oh wait I’m a troll and posting facts is called “trolling” but when certain people rehash the same old crap then it’s OK right???
Rob, I say go for 1 and 2.

I’m glad you liked my healthcare campaign slogan:
Obama didn’t take a Hippocratic oath,
He took a hypocritical oath!
I’ll be starting the bumper sticker business
as soon as I set up the LLC.
Obamacare Jackassery!

[Ok, he should have pretended he had an 11:30 patient]
We have built-in troll protection on the O.T. – a resident Mongolian goat.
by the way folks,
I was serious about the idea of using large bodies of water as carbon sinks by pumping them with CO2.
