  1. The house I grew up in, upstate, had a coal furnace. We kept it that way for years before my parents had it converted to oil. I remember the door where you shoveled the coal in had small isenglass (mica) windows panes. At 6, I was fascinated by the fact that they were pieces of stone, flaked thin enough to be translucent and fireproof. It was the beginning of the end for me. I’ve loved antiques and old things ever since.

So what you’re saying DCB is let’s go buy some really expensive options (expensive b/c volatility is through the roof) and bet on huge near-term upside (needs to be big upside to make your money back given what the options will cost you). I would personally not make that bet but think I understand it.
