But the point of such attacks really is a political statement- it is directed against Americans (as the terrorist perceives it). You can’t look at terrorism without looking at who the targets are and why. As far as terrorists are concerned everyone else is collateral damage. To him, they’re not important. Although they certainly are to us.
As far as natural disasters or wars,I don’t think there is any implied superiority in the stats or news, I think its a matter of identifying who is affected and making a connection. Every country does this, not only us.

Rob, re subway seats, maybe the feeling is different for a gay man, but for me??? Nah, I would take a seat from anybody – old ladies included, if they offered it to me.
i would too. i do not stand on trains. i don’t pay $2.25 to be standing up all up in someones face, being all wobbly, and uncomfortable. if i cant get a seat chances are i wont be getting on the train, unless there is clean ample floor space i could pop a squat without being obtrusive to other riders.
“It’s not worth the hassle of submitting all the claims plus, you will then be “out of network” and you’ll have to pay a lot more money out of pocket.”
All of which makes it that much more complicated when Dave has to do your taxes next year *rob*
The xray showed no obvious fracture but the emergency room doc said there could be a fracture on the growth plate that wouldn’t be visible on the x-ray and based on his physical examination he thought that could be the case. Ortho should hopefully clear things up.
Of course Jackal #2 broke his foot last fall (horsing around like he was told not to, same way his sister just hurt her ankle). I swear we’re going to get a visit from child services one of these days…
eeewwwwwww!
I hate when people groom on the train.
I don’t even like to see women apply makeup. I look at them after they’re done and think: Why did they even bother. It didn’t help.
MM, there used to be some train announcers that would come on and say during rush times that folks needed to take their backpacks and super large purses off their shoulders. That did help some. Now, it’s just every man, woman and child for themselves.
I’m a gentleman. If there is an elderly or disabled person, or a lady carrying a bunch of stuff, or ET on the car and hey need a seat, I’ll always give mine up. Makes me glad to do so.
That said, if there is an available seat, I’ll sit down. Why stand when you can sit? Besides, there’s no way to ever know how long you’re going to be down there.
