…it’s fascinating stuff,
the theory about earth itself is also that our moon was once part of this very planet.
seems that Earth was much larger early on, then a nasty collision with another planet blew off part of Earth to form the Moon that we look at every evening.
Here is the best critique I’ve ever heard of the whole global-warming fear-mongering scheme (I’m paraphrasing here):
“Over the past 20 years, Wall St. has hired Ph. D.s in math and physics to build them models to predict and beat the market. With 100’s of billions, if not trillions on the line, high salaries were offered to attract the best and brighest, and they were provided with the latest and greatest super-computers. Despite these efforts, their models failed to predict what would happen. At the same time, we are asked to believe that meteoroligists working hand-to-mouth in government and university labs with more modest computers have developed definitive models that pin-point the drivers behind global weather patterns.”
M4L- or you could learn to make your own brownies, cut out the middleman and never have to wonder about your source of supply again. Jeesh- and here I thought you were such an astute businessman 😉
It’s been a number of years since metorites were discovered in Antarctica whose chemical composition exactly matches that of Mars, leading to a strong consensus among scientists that the rocks originated on Mars. A microscopic inspection of the rocks revealed what appears to be traces of bacteria, albeit much smaller than Earthly bacteria and so old it is impossible to know for sure what it is. But we can at least say that it is reasonably likely that at some point a very long time ago a rock that originated on Mars and contained traces of very primitive martian life forms fell on what is now Antacrtica (which of course a long time ago was located in a more temperate region). And thus it is possible that this primitive martian life form either flourished here on Earth or somehow combined with existing Eartly life forms, and then evolved over many many years into part of all of life as we know it, including human beings. We could all be Martians. This is theoretically possible.
Biff, envelopes might be imported from China – ie you really dont know what you’ll be licking so it’s a good thing with these no-licking ones.
bxgrl, no self-respecting chinaman is going to cook his own food – we outsource that to someone else.
benson,
To your point,
just as we’re supposed to be melting,
mother nature starts up the ice machine:

So apparently teachers can punch students in the face and NOT get fired? Yay Unions

I love licking envelopes but now doctors’ offices seem to have those newfangled ones with with glue that don’t require moisture. WTF?
