  1. Rob re the Arizona law:
    1) The state police do not have authority over immigration law.
    2) I think opponents would say that it is an invitation to racial profiling.
    3) Tehcnically permanent residents (Green Card holders) are supposed to carry their card at all times anyway, although I think very few do so (I didn’t).

  2. lechacal…yes, and Pete should look to see how places like laos, Burma and South korea re doing these days and China and Russia before they embraced capitalism as a way of life open to private citizens.

What does he think made China the power it is today??? As much as it pains me to say this, the Chinese are a lot more than just sex objects in my mind. they are the capitalists of the world.

There’s one other analogy but, given the extended dust up this morning over Catholicism, i will refrain from mentioning!!!!!

  3. rob – It’s different because you’re asked for age at a specific place & your credit score is queried when you’re trying to get something. The i.d. law says a person can be stopped anywhere & has to show legal papers. That’s even worse than having your backpack searched on a subway since technically you could walk to your destination & not show the contents.
