  1. ShopRite is a great supermarket. Have one right by my house. Much better priced than all other supermarkets I have ever shopped in in Brooklyn (MetFood, KeyFood, Stop&Shop, Associated, Pathmark, etc).

  2. re: Admiral’s Row. Was there any hope that someone was going to take the lead to preserve any of this??? Apparently not. Not everything is worth preserving. At some point you stand in the way of progress and the real revitalization of an area.

It’s all over for Admiral’s row!

We knew this day would eventually arrive. Hot on the heels of a deal to bring an upscale supermarket to polarizing Downtown Brooklyn condo tower Toren, the Bloomberg administration has struck an agreement to bring a ShopRite to the Brooklyn Navy Yard, the Post reports. It’s the last nail in Admiral’s Row’s $60 million coffin. Nine historic buildings will be demolished, and the developer will be required to preserve only the Timber Shed on Flushing Avenue and Admiral Row’s oldest house, Building B. So when is Admiral’s Row getting its three-volley salute? Groundbreaking should happen in early 2012, with the project finished by 2013.

Gee a new place to buy overpriced food, whoppie!

    The What

Someday this war is gonna end..

  4. Delepp, saw that this morning.

    I do LOVE the apt.
I love the floating ceiling in living room. And that’s the right way to provide A/C in high end contemporary renovations!
I also love the floating walls off the floor. No wall base.
I’m mixed about the lacquered white ceilings. It was done in the late 80’s a lot.
That chandelier is GORGEOUS. Wish it was his colored glass creations. Those are stunning.

I want to see that tub in person. I probably would feel like I’m simmering in a pot of stew.

  5. Perdida,

Are you able to read much? In life, we are so crazy active, but you are actually forced to slow down. Are you able to do/think about anything that you think you wouldn’t be able to do if you were running around? Read the novels you always wished you had time for, write, paint, draw, listen to new kinds of music…….?
