“ET – I usually do a Tiffany keyring”
Arkady, thanks…but we’ve spent too much at Tiffany as is. So I’m boycotting them!!
Biff, if you’re still recovering from surgery at the next gathering, could you send Mrs C to cover you?
ET – I usually do a Tiffany keyring w/ a “cute” note about how education is the key to success & happiness.
M4L, I have to check out hot bird — that looks pretty nice. So nice to talk to you last night. Also, Ms. Why, nice to meet you too.
I feel the same…the cash bar didn’t sound so bad but suggestion of gift rather than stating please no gifts really tacky.
If this were someone who worked forever and dreamed about some vacation whole life and was without means, I’d be all for it. But they travel all the time/been everywhere and not budget travel. And I would think almost all guests would never have the means to live their lifestyle. (except other retired teachers).
And he is only 55.
donatella,
hot bird bar might’ve superceded that putnam bar albeit it remains on the list.
It was great seeing everyone last night and meeting new bloggers and lurkers and spouses! Terrific get-together cobblesnaps!
(Snappy – I didn’t see the poem on the back of your shirt until I saw the photo today – very clever and captures some of the most delightful posts!) (too many !!! – sorry)
Amzi, if you’re still here, the architect of the Beekman Place house I was trying to think of was Paul Rudolph. Slideshow of the house is here: http://bk.ly/rrO
I see no one has actually dared discuss the 800 lb elephant in the room.
Congratulations to ET on the soon-to-be youngun!!!!!
You were missed, Wasder. But no worries, because you are organizing something at that new place on the Putnam corner. Remember?
Lechecal, don’t you agree though that KC has a lot of cultural things, just on a smaller scale. I LOVE the Nelson Atkins.
Nah, actually, never mind. You’re right. It’s a backwater.
