  1. My point, what, is simply that I would at least give him till the end of the day before attributing any significance to the fact that he hasn’t made a full-fledged story of a story he already linked to. Obviously he hasn’t “skimmed over” a story he linked. This is now a discussion about the importance of a story and the emphasis that should be placed on it, a far more nuanced discussion than you are making it out to be.

    I understand your point, but I think it is rushed and overstated to score rhetorical points.

  2. What;

    I think this one is a stretch. Bushwick is still not part of Brownstone Brooklyn. The developer may have made the same mistake in in assuming that, and is now saddled with condos that won’t sell.

    During the last great real estate boom, in the late 80’s, a developer built a row of homes on 33rd Street between 4th and 5th Ave, claiming that this was the new emerging area of Park Slope. The fool was left holding the bag when the market crashed in the early 90’s. The homes are still there, by the way, and this area is still not considered part of Park Slope.

    Donatella;

    Here I am. Please catch up. I’m in San Jose, not LA.

    oh, right, that was YESTERDAY…OK, just keep the windows rolled up and the AC on. Can’t deplete your O2 supply.

  4. “”she seems kind of nonplussed about the whole thing.”

    Sounds rather arrogant. She’ll fit right in.”

    Nah, more like what Jester said. “Wait, you do what all day on this website? So what do you talk about? Really? So it’s like a Seinfeld episode where nothing meaningful really ever happens or gets done or said but you can’t stop watching it anyways? Um, OK.” I’m exaggerating of course, she knows what brownstoner is has heard about a few of you. And she met most of my asshathill crew, but I think DH was the only crossover at that one other than me.

  5. “What, when he starts paying you to edit his blog, you can tell him how many times he has to have the same story up by lunchtime.”

    Brownstoner is “Brownstone Brooklyn” premier Blog, right. Jon should have his finger on the pulse of Brooklyn. This story is so important because it shows the affects of a crashing housing market and the aftermath.

    What happens to Gentrification in that area and how do the people in that neighborhood feel about the Halfway House?

    I think you’re missing the point Slopefarm..
