  1. In a house in college, we discovered that a chipmunk has bitten a hole in the screen of the window in our pantry. We discovered this only after pouring sugar and flour all over the floor — he had chewed a hole in the bottom of ALL of our bags and boxes in the pantry. At least $200 worth of food. But we were poor and cheap and preferred spending our money on booze and weed… so we realized that we could still eat the top 2/3 of all of the dry ingredients. The chipmunk didn’t lick that part.

  2. ET, a regular IRA is deductible against current income, a Roth is not. That usually makes a regular IRA a better deal if you fall within income limits. I believe but an not certain you can have both. Of course from a practical pov that is pretty difficult, you’d have to be a massive saver since the income limits for a single person for a Roth are 105k and 56k for a trad ira.

  3. Don’t worry Rob, it’s probably the squirrel to whom you have been communicating and he just wants to be near. But I am serious about the offer; I had my own squirrel adventure which is very funny but tested my heart and nervous system, so I know what you are talking about. And the cage thing works if it gets in.

  4. Snappy – I didn’t have any pants on, so i didn’t run out of the house screaming. But then I actually got dressed after a few minutes because I had the thought, “I better cover up in case this guy gets in and claws my penis off.”

  5. thanks donatella!! im hoping it’s not a squirrel tho, but it probably is since there are so many of them. im also hoping they know enough NOT to come into the apartment because of my dog who likes to bark at them, but this is in my bedroom and my door stays closed most times and my dog isnt in there, so i dont know. they are probably getting their revenge for laughing at them when my dog scares the crap out of them.
