  1. snappy- No no no no no- it means bags of glitter, doesn’t it? You’re not fooling me one bit, Ms Sweetness and Light. I see you glittering there in the corner. 🙂 (I’ll email you )

  2. “no matter though, go to Rasmussen or Gallup and you’ll find one overwhelming theme:

November will not be good for Democrats and the President”

That’s funny. I tend to think it will all work out well for the President, much as it has to this point. He’s lose some battles for sure, but I think he’ll do well in the end. So will our country. In the end, like others have said, we shall see.

  3. The country is getting tired of hearing republicans whine and yet never present any solutions. “No” is not a policy and people are waking up to the fact the Republicans would rather throw their constituents under a bus than act like responsible adults in government and work with the President. They should stop whining how dems and Obama don’t listen to them, because, in fact the Republicans aren’t saying anything except “no, no and no.” And even some republicans are waking up to that fact and complaining. But if you get all your news from Faux News and the NYP, you wouldn’t be reading any of that.

  4. benson,

lol, yes we are supposed to believe that our fellow Americans are dumb any time there is an issue with the Democratic leadership in the White House, the House of Representatives and the Senate.
But of course they are brilliant when they elect Dems.

    bxgrl,

    yes, let’s place our bets;
I’m betting our unemployment doesn’t go under 9.0% by Nov.
I’m also betting against any noticable good changes from healthcare reform in the next 6 months that might boost the dems which obviously went all in on that issue.
Remember there was bipartisan support against that healthbill, but the dems went ahead unilaterally on that one.
    Time will indeed tell.

  5. That poll is about Iowans, not national tea party make up. 17% self-identify as Democrats. 34% as Republican. There is no unified Tea party as has been stated by many who call themselves Tea partiers. They are a loose conglomeration but as has also been said, including in the DesMoines Register, the “Tea Party” movement mostly associates itself with the Republicans. The Register also says that the tea party movement prides itself on being “leaderless.”

The more obvious point that you miss, is that independents are a huge group- Despite the percentage in the poll you use, that percentage only relates to the make up of the Iowan tea party movement. 49% in the Iowa TP call themselves “independents.” That does not automatically translate into 49% of Independents nationwide. And another point you didn’t post- 45% of Iowans do not support the TP, with another 22% unsure. Only 33% do support it. So again, don’t get too cocky.

  6. I’m with arkady. YOu also need to stop claiming only your “proof” is legitimate. And don’t get too complacent over the polls today- things change. And today:

“BOCA RATON, Fla. — A Democratic state senator on Tuesday handily won the first U.S. House race since Congress passed a massive health care overhaul, beating a decidedly underdog Republican who tried to use the backlash against the measure to pull an upset.

With 100 percent of precincts reporting, Florida state Sen. Ted Deutch had 62 percent of the vote compared to 35 percent for Republican Ed Lynch.

Deutch, an attorney, and Lynch, a contractor, both 44, were vying to replace retiring Democratic U.S. Rep. Robert Wexler.”

So don’t place your bets yet.
