If the government needs more tax revenues I say raise the cigarette taxes and the soft drink sugar taxes…two things i don’t consume!!! Also the US hotel tax.

problem is we had a manufacturing base back then,
now we don’t.
we also didn’t have 10% unemployment back then, or a shrinking work force or 70 million baby boomers retiring.
nothing wrong with spending in general,
problems arise when we spend beyond our means and into non existence.
THL, it started when he was on UTI food so i somewhat blame the vet. He’s been on diet for for over two years now with very little progress. He is a big cat to begin with and it’s all bulk.
But he eats like a dog…snarfing down everything and then crying when the bowl is empty in the evening!!!
Our nanny (*rob* – we DO NOT pay FICA) had an issue yesterday so I got to take a half day off to take her to the rich kids clubhouse (Citibabes). We got a free class for our group. Was great fun seeing how the other half lives (very nicely, tyvm).

Do you know that almost every single case heard on Judge Joe Brown and the like include a dispute about a cell phone charge? It’s crazy.
