I really don’t know what I do to provoke people, but I was attacked again this weekend. Not by that a**hole Wall Street guy on his bike this time. But by 2 totally insane cat ladies at my vet’s office. They crept up behind me, very stealthily, and then all of sudden started screaming at me and flailing their arms wildly, hitting me about the head and upper torso with their duffelbag-sized purses (very Ruth Buzzi in Laugh-In). And one of these nuts is also waving a cat carrier at me, and the cat is hissing and showing its fangs, and before I know what hit me, the other nut opens the cat carrier, and the cat jumps on my head (speaking of something out of a Ben Stiller movie), mauling me terribly before I could make my escape. And people wonder why I’m not a cat person.
we may be facing a better retirement than younger generation…. but younger generation grew up much more affluent than us and are too accustomed to a material life that those before did not have.
I guess balances out.
Ringo – The biggest diff I’ve seen is that the crowd on 4th Av disappears early (I got there by 7:30) while the groups at HD are there pretty much all day.
etson…that story is about the UK. We don’t live there!!!!
And….
“A recent study concluded that those born in the late 1980s expect to “have their cake and eat it”, encouraging one newspaper to label Gen Y as “self-entitled whingers”.

Seems like it’s just us children of the 1970’s that are the blameless victims of other generations’ entitlement then!!

“or your face??
Wait, one loses one’s face when watching the movie? You mean one loses respect socially or one literally has one’s face removed?”
Sorry, the use of the word “face” gets me all flustered and often prompts typos.
etson, the population pyramid for the UK is worse than the US…we have a higher number of young people here…
