Hey! No dissing my favorite home products catalogue.

I agree with needing changes, especially as we all live longer. I don’t agree with bashing baby boomers and blaming them for everything. Actually i think there is rationing of healthcare already. we just don’t acknowledge it as such. Insurers do it every day. And I have a problem with people making life or death decisions who care more about bottom lines than lives. I am all too aware of necessity, but what kind of society weighs profit against lives as a policy decision? Because you know in that scenario, people will always lose.
“A teeth-cleaning by a third-year dental student at NYU costs $60, but in Harlem and the Bronx dentists will pay you to open wide—if you’re on Medicaid that is. ”
BTW I was in there a coupla weeks ago, on my usual biz, not related to dental, and I asked one of the guys if the dental care there was cheaper. He said they charge more and gave me some convoluted explanation about more eyes watching or something.
my insurance solution: get rid of it. we should have one national policy that only covers major medical (roughly 400/mo per family). if you want supplemental, go for it. and everyone gets a $2500 debit card that can be spent on any medical services only: vaccines, dental, whatever.
imagine if our car insurance was like this — paying for every oil change. Or our home insurance — paying for every light bulb. it’s ridiculous.
my plan costs about 20% of current health insurance costs. imagine — we could afford prevention!
Too much for me to catch up on.
Someone should do a Mid Day OT Synopsis
and then an End of Day OT Synopsis.

“the government already basically sets the fee schedule for doctors through the CMS Centers for Medicare/Medicaid Services.”
Aaahh…I thought more & more doctors are opring out of Medicare *because the fee schedule is low*?
And to whoever slammed bxgrl for using trickle-down…get a grip…that was a Republican term !
