“Mr. Cameron also married well: Samantha, his wife, is the daughter of Sir Reginald Adrian Berkeley Sheffield, Eighth Baronet and a descendant — reportedly in three different ways — of King Charles II; her stepfather is the Fourth Viscount Astor.”
Jolly good, well done, pip pip, Cameron, olde boy.

CMU – strong 2nd for the above. IMO D.C. is a longer trip ideally. Gettysburg is self-contained more or less, and 2-4 days is a great introductory time frame. While I love D.C. as well, and it is also a great option for middle school kids, I think Gettysburg has a little easier pacing, and something you will both enjoy a lot.
I look my 11 y.o. boy there last year. The licensed battlefield guides are outstanding. For around $35-50 you can schedule a private tour.
As a side trip on the way or coming back, you could spend a day at Hersey Park.
“Mr. Cameron also went to Oxford, where he ran in rarefied company, enjoying shooting parties at the estates of his rich friends and joining the upper-crust Bullingdon Club, whose members like to put on white tie, get spectacularly drunk and destroy things like the insides of rural pubs.”
Apparently we’re not supposed to call sitting cross-legged “Indian style” any more. My kids come home from school calling it “criss cross apple sauce”, which is just gay.
jester, there had to be buggering in boarding school as well.

Yeah. No. It’s still Indian Style. And it’s still Indian Giving. And it’s still Cigar Store Indian, NOT Cigar Store Native American!!

“I did get the Sea Monkeys”
And the Magic Rocks. And the Pet Rock. And I still have all 15 series of my Wacky Packages.
Presumably also they are implying that ‘sauce’ rhymes with ‘cross’.
Could take years of elocution lessons to get rid of that sort of thing.

Sounds like a party:
