Park Slope –> Brooklyn Bridge –> Holland Tunnel –> New Jersey –> Delaware Water Gap –> PA (speeding ticket, 83 in a 65) –> Ohio (yawn) –> Indiana (with a jaunt across the border to Michigan just to say I was there) –> Illinois, right through downtown Chicago –> Wisconsin –> over the rain-swollen Mississippi river into Minnesota –> South Dakota (Sioux Falls is actually a cool little town) –> The Corn Palace –> Wall Drug (I dug Wall Drug) –> The Badlands –> Mount Rushmore (awesome) –> deep into rural Wyoming –> down to Denver –> back up to Wyoming and across many miles of high plains –> Utah (with a stop in Salt Lake City) –> The Great Salt Flats –> lots of Nevada desert –> Reno (lost some $$) –> Donner Pass (didn’t stop for a snack) –> down down down into Sacramento –> up around the bay through Sonoma and Marin counties so I could approach SF from the North –> over the Golden Gate Bridge into San Francisco on a deliciously perfect afternoon –> spent yesterday afternoon wandering the streets of San Francisco –> redeye back to NYC
