you are arguing about the limits of the judicial branch which are basically left up to the judges that are confirmed for those positions,
I am arguing about the limits of the executive and legislative branches and the necessity to stick to the constitutional limits delineated for each.
my statement about Sotomayor is only to indicate that a “stacked” court loses it’s inherent ability to provide a natural check to the power of the presidential office.
Clearly the supreme court has ruled against the Republican president as recently as 2006 in the Hamdan/Rumsfeld case. Fine.
again, what you must ask yourself is this simple question,
why would a majority in the house, senate and the president collude to pass this bill without a true vote.
Whooo…Sorry for yelling 🙂 Just need to let you all know that you need to head down to the Flea this Sunday to buy a B-Stoner t-shirt. It’s very important that you get one before the next PLUSA shindig…more details later…
