I always heard that the exterior was shot on either Hicks or Willow Streets.
They may have shot the interiors in Flatbush, but no way were they living there. Always disorienting when tv or film mangles geography in places you know. (Squid and the Whale was pretty dead-on, though.)
Strangely, this reminds me of the following from All in the Family:
Edith (on phone, trying to give someone directions to the Bunkers’ house): From where you are, can you see Astoria Boulevard? … You can? …. Then you’re lost.
I could have sworn I’ve heard them mentioning streets in BK Heights, but I may be wrong…from the internet…

Is it just me, or is the Brownstoner Directory wiped out? I created a forum post about carpet cleaners, then got the bright idea to check the directory. It takes forever to load and when it finally did, it states that there are 0 listings and no categories. What happened? Mr. B? You out there?
