okay almost time for lunch for me. i brought in two hard boiled eggs. im gonna go to the salad bar aroudn the corner and use their condiments for the eggs
snappy,
yeah “Looking for Mr. Goodbar”
that was an evil little movie
with Diane Keaton and Tom Berringer.
The 70’s had the best movies ever,
at least the one’s set in New York.
Agreed, JB, so much so that my favorite parakeet, may he rest in peace, was named Miles after the character. I saw the actor who played Jim Dine a few weeks ago – Charles Kimbrough, I think – who did not age well.
Loved Murphy Brown (until it jumped the shark with Eldin becoming the nanny). Loved Designing Women (until it jumped the shark when the original cast started to be replaced; big Dixie Carter fan – I’ve seen her perform several times at Cafe Carlyle). Not a big fan of Golden Girls (even though I was a Bea Arthur fan) or most of the other shows you’ve been discussing, but, surprisingly, Alf grew on me (he was just snarky enough, I think).
Softcore and an imagination are all you need! Then again, my parents totally had Playboy and that was back in the days before Parental Controls — my brother was always flipping the channel when I walked downstairs.
Some are just dumb losers w/ no area of interest or expertise.

arkady,
I don’t know, I think a Nerd has to have some level of intelligence or you are disqualified and just an ordinary loser no? lol
oops,
Arkady,
Just realized that my statement could be misread as “you” personally as opposed to the intended “you” generalized/plural. Hope that’s not the way you took it, maybe I’m just being a nerd and overanalyzing.

“Miles Silverberg is a great name”

Yup, Snappy – my brothers had me watching porno and listening to 2LiveCrew. No wonder I’m not close to them.

Or was that “Looking for Mr. Goodbar”? I don’t recall.
Ha! My brothers and I …the closest we got was sneeking to watch “About Last Night” and “Searching for Mr. Goodbar” on HBO!
