biff,
what it ultimately comes down to is this simple question;
Is Democracy (at least the American form of it) the best vehicle to bring the greatest freedom, opportunity and society to the greatest and most varied amount of people at a given time?
This question is posited with the implicit understanding that American Democracy does not come without conflict and with the obvious examples of history showing alternative forms of governance and societal structure with their inherent problems.
My husband is on 72nd and 5th and I want to know if there’s a good Italian bakery anywhere in the vicinity he can pick up some cannoli and sfogliatelle.

Wow, thanks Jessi! Coming from you, that’s a huge compliment. But for my own sanity (or at least, what remains of it) and in order to avoid a sure case of Carpel Tunnel Syndrome, I think I’ll go back to my patented corny one-liners for the remainder of the day.
Hola and Thanks, ENY 🙂
I put up two more photos on Flickr. One’s a partial reveal of me (just so you all know I’m real and not just a figment of the internets).

Hey, Snapper! How’s the glitter world treatin’ you today? And how are the cats, fish, ferrets, python, tarantula and orangutan???
Biff;
If you tell me that millions of civilians were killed by the US during the Vietnam war, then the discussion is over. It simply is not true.
First, Biff, it’s NEVER too early for a Jack & Coke.
B. You’re sooooo deeep.

THL is also here?
Wow, 500 here I come.
THL, I’m not a big fan of Italian desserts. Too creamy for me. I’m more of a French dessert devourer.
But I’ve heard Leske’s on 76th & 5th is THE Italian bakery in Bay Ridge.
Also, Jean Danet on 75th – 76th & 5th is good.
