The implication of your statement is an exaggeration. No one is suggesting anything primitive or growing your own food. What is being suggested is a decrease in processed foods, more natural agriculture, less cruelty to animals, etc., all of which would have little enough effect on productivity that we can all still eat well (or, actually, better).

Did you know that there’s actually a market for that sort of thing in japan? Vending machines sell so-called used underwear from young girls with little stories and pics included.
