  1. When I was a kid, along w/ personal jet packs for travel, we were told we’d only have to eat a pill three times a day to get all the nutrition we needed & we thought that was cool – so long as there were chocolate bars still around.

  2. Caveat to my rent control rant: Rent control does limit the number of apartments with unpainted original wood trim on the market. Those are passed down by generations of housemates. But you can still rent a room in them.

  3. thanks – ha

all I know is that I reallllly don’t want to eat meat from a poor animal that was mis-treated and stressed and hopped up on antibiotics-so Ringo def has a good point!

I really wish I could give you up…meat!

  4. CGar, various people opining on babies hanging out in bars, commentary on the rapidly discombobulating Charlie Rangel,
PLUSAs opining on whether or not organic farming is starving the 3rd world. The usual….

  5. Please, enough with the idea that rent control limits the supply of apartments. People live in the apartments. They are in use. Housing is not a pure commodity like gold.

The way rent control was instituted in New York City was very shortsighted. It has worked quite well in other cities such as San Francisco, where it puts a cap on costs for renters, just like buying a mortgage does for owners.
