  1. 72 catalina, my pops had a 72 ventura, what I remember was how cold the AC got the car and how enormous the back seat was. Never had a chance to drive it. His next car was a vega, fiasco.

  2. Now I understand, legion. Your father burned your artwork when you were a child and this permanently traumatized you. Sad. Very sad. My childhood trauma was watching my twin sister accidentally step on our parakeet.

  3. …funny, random story about “litterbugs”

In kindergarden, I once had an art project where we took a plain brown paper bag and tied strings to it for hanging.
On the paper bag we drew something relating to the popular phrase ; “don’t be a litterbug”. The idea was to have a “trash bag” for litter around the house.

so I drew an insect with all kinds of trash around it and proudly gave it to my father who was a smoker at the time, like everyone else.

…next day my mother tells me that my father who proudly placed the paper trash receptacle in his 1972 Catalina, nearly drove off the road when ash from his cigarette ignited the “don’t be a litterbug” art project in the front passenger seat. Apparently he had to throw a cup of coffee on the blaze next to him to keep from becoming a newspaper headline.

…well, the kindergarden teacher never said anything about being a firebug.

  4. legion- aries- I’m on the cusp. So you see, Goat Boy and I have this Russian Jewish Mongolian farm animal thing going on 🙂 (another reason why he should get me that expresso machine!)
