Whatever frustrations I may have had about my career vanished after I read some of the background on the shootings down in the Univ. of Alabama.
Apparently one of the things that haunted this nutjob was what happened to a former colleague. He was doing some ground-breaking research in chemistry, but then the funding for his project dried up, and his academic career was over. He’s now driving a hospitality bus. In the meantime, some other researchers picked up on his work, and went on to win a Nobel Prize.
Think about THAT whenever you think fortune isn’t smiling on you.
